24 Injured Victims Due to Tourism Bus Accident in Bantul Still Being Treated in Hospital

A total of 24 injured victims due to a tourism bus accident on the Imogiri-Dlingo road, Bantul on Sunday (6/2/2022) afternoon, are currently still being treated in a number of hospitals.

"The number of victims who died there are 13 people whose names have also been identified, then the number of injured victims is still being treated in three hospitals including a referral hospital, there are 24 people," said Bantul Police Chief AKBP Ihsan during a press conference related to the development of handling tourism bus accidents in Bantul. , Monday (7/2/2022).

The police chief said that of the 24 injured victims who were still being treated, four were treated at the Panembahan Senopati Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Bantul, 11 at the PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in Bantul, and six at the Nur Hidayah Hospital in Bantul.

"Then in several hospitals that became referrals, because of the fatality or the impact of these injuries, they had to be referred to hospitals in the Yogyakarta City area," he said.

The police chief said a total of 34 people were injured when the tourist bus he was traveling in crashed into a cliff in the Bukit Bego area, but some of the injured on Sunday (6/2) night had returned to Sukoharjo's house, Central Java, with minor injuries.

"We also brought several people, so we prepared vehicles in collaboration with the local government, some of the victims who were only slightly injured were then able to undergo outpatient treatment and we immediately took them home to the Sukoharjo area," he said.

Thus, he said, currently there are still injured victims being treated, and the hospital will maximize in accordance with the Bantul Regent's orders to provide maximum services with the full support of Jasa Raharja.

The police chief also said that for the 13 victims who died as of Sunday at around 22.00 WIB, the police had succeeded in identifying all the victims, after previously four of them had not been identified because they did not carry identification at the hospital.

"After we identified it, we escorted it to Sukoharjo using 13 ambulances. And information from Sukoharjo has been buried, including the compensation provided by Jasa Raharja," he said.

The accident started when the tourism bus with 47 passengers from Sukoharjo, Central Java was traveling from east to west or from the Mangunan Pine Forest to Imogiri through the Imogiri-Dlingo road section which is a tourist route on Sunday (6/2) at around 13.30 WIB.

However, when on the descent to Bukit Bego, the bus drove out of control and swerved to the right because a car was moving slowly in the same direction in front of it, because the bus swayed uncontrollably, it hit a cliff in the north of the road, causing it to crash on the front and sides.
