The unfortunate incident occurred because the red bus with the police number (nopol) S 7262 US from south to north did not apply the brakes as it headed towards the fire light.
The bus then hit 6 cars and 2 motorbikes which were stopped at the apill light, waiting for the green light to come on.
"We are still investigating this accident. The driver admitted he lost concentration while driving. There are various reasons for this loss of concentration," said Head of the Bantul Police Traffic Unit, AKP Gunawan Setiabudi SH MM when met at the Ketandan Police Post, Saturday (12/2/2022).
He said the incident occurred at around 22.30 WIB, Friday night.
From the observations of Tribunjogja.com, the Ketandan intersection area, around 08.00 WIB, was busy smoothly.
The vehicles involved in the accident with the bus have been evacuated so as not to cause congestion.
"We have evacuated because the area is congested, so it will be cleaned immediately so that there is no traffic jam," said Gunawan.
Asked about the fate of the victims, Gunawan said, there were 6 victims of the accident.
However, all of them suffered minor injuries and have returned from RSPAU Hardjolukito.
